The film will be introduced by local Director Jim Becket, and a Q&A will be held following the screening. After the film, we'll hear from representatives of the Global Resource Alliance about their continued efforts in Tanzania. They will share with us a few short films that demonstrate the important work they do for peace and prosperity.

This event is free, but space is limited. Please register in advance and arrive early for a prompt start time.

  • THE FILM

Uganda's Idi Amin and Tanzania's Julius Nyerere were bitter enemies who went to war in 1978.

Today, the dictator Amin is reviled as the 'Butcher of Uganda', while the socialist Nyerere is revered as the 'Founding Father of Tanzania.' Nyerere's army forced Amin and his family into exile in 1979, ending Idi Amin's blood-soaked regime.

In this film, the two leaders' sons attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro on a journey of peace and reconciliation.

ABOUT

GRA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to bringing hope, joy and abundance in the Mara Region of Tanzania. By sharing ideas, volunteers and financial resources with local, community and women based organizations we seek to promote natural, holistic and sustainable solutions to the challenges of poverty, malnutrition and disease. The inspiration and leadership for our work comes from the communities we serve.
